Some other high-lights of TirauTirau is not only home to The Castle. Many other unique and interesting shops line the streets of this fine town. Famous for the Sheep, which houses a wide array of wool products for sale, Tirau also has The Dog right next door, which contains Tiraus information centre. Often referred to by other New Zealanders as 'that town with all the antique shops', Tirau contains many high quality shops full of antiques and collectables. The range of items and the fair prices have created an image of Tirau as an antique haven. Because of it's location from Auckland (the two hour mark), Tirau is the perfect place for a rest stop. The Castle provides a wide selection of fine cafe style food but if your tastes lie somewhere else Tirau contains dozons of other places to stop for a bite to eat.
